It is a temporary garden of about 300 m2 with sides of 10x30 m. in Kuznetsky Most Ulitsa maintained between June and November. The square geometry of the garden contains three circular rooms, the perimeter of the three circles is made with a permeable sequence of large mirror panels to create, through the sequence of the rooms, a single space.
The huge mirrored panels, placed inside the garden and hidden by trees and plants at the edge of the garden, give a sense of visual expansion with a different combination of overlapping flowers / plants (foreground) and mirrored plants (background) in a liquid image.
The title of the garden "You are the landscape" is given to suggest the idea that we live a continuous landscape of which we are a part. The project aims to induce action in space as in an urban device. An action that begins with leaving the urban space to enter inside the hortus conclusus (room) in a modern "dynamic mirror of frescoes".
The images are repeated by mirrors, the visitors change the scene moving inside the garden, like a green kaleidoscope; like the broad kaleidoscopic Russian landscape.
This garden is not a replica of the different Russian landscapes but it is the replica of our sensation crossing the landscape that we feel like a repeated sequence (woods, fields, emptiness, water and again).
The design of the garden is a great suggestion of the works of art by Kandinsky (circles in circles) and contemporary pop culture with the artistic concepts of Pistoletto (to be inside the work of art) and Yayoy Kusama (the space Infinity).
Plants are not only the object of attention of the visitor, but build, with visitors, a new united landscape. The thin thickness of the panels and the void between them give a sense of immateriality to the space, mixing the specular reflection with the real image. In the garden the plants in front of the visitor and the plants reflected in the mirrors behind the visitor merge into a single image, giving the perception of something that changes in a continuous repetition of the garden. At the center of each room there is a void, with a natural tree trunk / log flooring, like a forest clearing and a simple natural tree bench.
Inside the rooms and between them, the garden has the same level of visitor on the ground. In this way we have the same feeling of being in a real garden with the perimeter passages that lead to the urban space from which we come.
Visitors enter the pavilion among the mirrors towards the center of the garden where there is an empty space surrounded by herbs, flowers, shrubs and small plants placed in different shapes and with different densities.
During the summer the garden should become more rustic, some herbs will grow to cover the edge of the passages, giving more the sensation of the contrast between the perfectly shaped “metallic” mirror panels and the raw and natural shape of the garden with the delicate spot of colorful flowers.
Along the edge of each mirror panel there is a strip showing the passage between the urban space and the garden. During the night, the mirrors disappear and 36 arched lights draw the garden and the mirrors become irrelevant.
There are 3 plant areas made in a different aspect and seasonality:
The central areas (rooms) are made with a main field of herbs, different in each room (pennisetum / deschampsia / panicum) + groups of flowering plants and small shrubs + additions of perennial flower pairs. They will bloom at different times along the first summer (a few) and the end of summer. These green fields will be more rustic over time and some pieces of bark and stones will give a sense of nature.

In the passages between the circles there are trees (multistem birches) and two types of shrubs, in one side they are substantially evergreen trees (pinus mugo) + small shrubby plants, the second is with fern and shadow plants + other perennials. These two parties want to give the idea of passing through the woods. The appearance of these areas will not change much during his life.
The two short side entrances are the passages from the urban space to the "hortus conclusus" and are made with trees (sorbus aucuparia) and more massive shrubs + some patches of grass and a few flowering plants.
The expected changes in the appearance of the garden are few during the first part of the summer, with only small spot flowers, but major changes are expected in the second part of the summer with the flowering of herbs and the permanent flower of some perennial plant (Sanguisorba , Cimicifuga, Verbena, Allium Schubertii, ...) with many perennial plants that will give the color to the yellow / green of other plants and to change the color of the leaves of the herbs.
