The urban landscape is a continous space where every users is part of it, from scene to scene in a repeated shot and reverse shot, where the background is the urban space the foreground is the mental image record before. Our proposal want to put in evidence the value of the collective memory in the urban space as an extension of the individual life, as collector of single identity merged in the collective identity. Linked Fragments in public living space.
The nature and the “live” landscape, shrubs and trees, does not enter in the urban channel in a decorative way, but also carrying this quality, but giving a geometry rules in the open
space; the anthropized nature gives rithmn and dimension in this large and long street like a dynamic isothropic container.
Inside this new space, the leading actor the urban tale is the narrative of the people with their experience, objects and contemporary way of life. To be in the landscape, To be the landscape.
Texture, objects, and nature estabilish a new relationship with the people increasing the experience of the street life and giving a bold image to this important street.
To achieve this target, with the mentioned strategies, we have used 3 Actions/Tools:
- Simple Nature: trees, in natural shape placed in the Tverskaya Street, with only few changes of the edge position and size of the road; egg-shaped shrubs in 1-YaTverskaya Yamskaya Ulitsa. No plant container.
- Meaning objects: chairs, benches, small experience devices, scenary stairs, urban devices.
- Art Texture: the road pavement became a big art space visible from the ground level and from the windows facing the street with large painted area ispired by the design of Ljubov' Sergeevna Popova.
The car and public transport system in 1-YaTverskaya and Tverskaya does not change but the design involves the future strategies for the closed street around (Brestskaya Ulitsa, 1- YaTverskaya Yamskaya Ulitsa) giving to them the role of the “public realm” and bike pathway.
