The project area is located inside the Parku i Madh Kodrat and Liqenit Park in Tirana. The rationalist building of the Italian architect Valle cannot be compared to the monumental buildings of rationalist architecture and any extensions built today can not be so respectfully of the memory of the place.
We took the opportunity to confirm the historical memory of the building by completely redefining the functional scheme. The intended use of what was delivered to us is confirmed: a building for education and the Supreme Court
The intervention strategies are the following:
- place the judiciary school in the existing school building, renewing and adapting the internal spaces to the new needs;
- to design a new building suitable for the new contemporary requirements that the Supreme Court will ask.
The two structures create a central node of the relationship between the city and the park. They are closely related to each other and to the surrounding landscape.
The new Supreme Court building is the building that want to solve all the problems and complexities of the internal spatial distribution of a justice building, presenting itself as an easily repeatable model.
