The project envisages the insertion of a vertical Urban Farm, that is a structure that accommodates the production, consumption, and dissemination for educational and promotional purposes of urban agriculture, seen both as production (FAST) with reduced land consumption and as an experiential mode with food in the production phase (SLOW). The Urban Farm could be a point of reference for the context, also as a witness to a process of change and stratification of the tradition of the area, also a place of supply of zero km agricultural products as an opportunity to develop new professional skills involved in an urban agriculture 2.0.
In order to manage water resources in a sustainable way and to increase the resilience of the project and its impact on the context, the entire rainwater cycle will be organized within the area by building a system for the accumulation of the same and permeable absorption areas.
An integrated system of green-blue-grey infrastructures will be envisaged for heat regulation and rainfall management, also through the use of Nature-based Solution (NbS) systems such as rain gardens easily inserted along and alongside the settlement. Three levels of landscape reading: the first, more urban, which establishes a relationship between the street level and the podium, and the more public one which will have a simple structure with plant species that are easy to maintain. The second is inside and above the podium which will become "living mediation" within the mineral space and thermal regulator. The third, on the roofs, as a place of climatic mediation but also of human interaction with nature and the individual production of edible and non-edible plant species.
