The central plaza's project of the new shopping center in Monopoli is organized on two fundamental concepts:
- The creation of a significant space in direct visual contact with the sea in front.
- Integration of new functions and nature over time has characterized the area.
The square’s concept was born from the idea of opening a gap in existing buildings, almost as if it were space, dividing them to leave to the nature the task of creating a continuity between the waterfront and the internal space. This relationship is denied by physically building. The mall ‘s square is an integral part thereof. Other business catering activity find space in this square that wants to be a place of fun and relaxation. The commercial space is also built on the outside, becomes a mix of street and square, the space of city life for the inhabitants who are accustomed to living outdoors. No longer an artificial island that "allegorically" repeats the urban space, but a real urban space. The sea, another element of the landscape of Puglia, is represented of the green space in a slow walk down the terraces.
